Ballard Roadside Raingardens

This Seattle Public Utilities project was completed in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.   The raingardens were designed with specialty soils and densely planted vegetation to filter stormwater flowing from the roadway, while providing attractive landscaping. Rain gardens were excavated and built within existing planting strips, and in some cases, extended slightly into roadways, providing a secondary benefit of traffic calming.  Paul Brothers, with skills in both roadway and landscaping construction, was a well-suited General Contractor for this project.
